Similar strategy to one of my favorites against Lucky Yi. The script for that one lets us bring in a level pet between the Val'kyr and Ikky. I tried that strategy by hand here against Zao, and it worked but was close (only tested the once). A Level 24 pet gained some 500+ XP.

For this fight with the alternative Foulfeather, wouldn't it be better to change(next) just in case someone uses that pet due to that pet being in the fight?

I haven't been pet battling long, but this was the first time I ever saw Haunt 'miss'! I ran this same strat yesterday in this fight before reset with no problem, so I was pretty surprised.

Had the same thing happen. for some reason if the Val'kyr dies sometimes Haunt will miss. But if you continue and just swap out for Ikky and continue the strat still works,

Haunt misses for me, every time, if I am in the "Undead" period of life. If you already died, Haunt won't take effect.
