Parmesan Tortellini Bites Recipe (2024)

Make sure to REPIN this recipe 🙂 Thanks!

I cannot tell you how much fun these bites were to make — I personally love Tortellini — I buy the fresh pasta kind a few times a month ( it is perfect to serve for dinner on a night that I do not want to cook ( though I always try and make the sauce fresh – usually pesto orAlfredo

My family loved this recipe – especially my mom — This snack was eaten up in under 30 minutes FLAT

I love when I cook something and there are no leftovers 🙂

Sadly this recipe is SUPER un -gluten Free friendly – it is basically gluten pasta – covered in gluten covered in even more gluten ( there really is no way around it – sniffles)

I decided to fry these bites in peanut oil – I personally love frying in peanut oil – but use what works for you 🙂

Eric decided on the marinara sauce we used – no one seemed to like it much though – if you know of a good marinara sauce ( jarred) – let me know in the comment section 🙂

If you do make the Parmesan Tortellini Bites Recipeplease let me know what you think 🙂

Love You Guys!

  5. In another bowl - whisk eggs
  6. Take each pasta piece and place in the flour then the egg mixture then the panko mixture then fry - takes about 1 minute to fry each piece
  7. Place finished piece on a paper towel so the excess oil is soaked up

Surprisingly, Target brand Marinara sauces are delicious.

  • Lynn

Have you tried baking these instead of frying them?

  • Jess

I will be trying these this weekend. And for us we have found the hands down the best spaghetti sauce is the Del Monte in the can. My husband is very picky and that one gets his approval (its also the cheapest and has the fewest ingredients so most real food like).

  • Ashley

i am going to pick up the ingredients for these tomorrow, I will post again after I make them, but I wanted to let you know my husband is very picky on his sauces and his favorite is Newmans Own marinara!

  • Amy

Rao’s makes an amazing marinera sauce.

  • Stephanie

I try these for Christmas Eve! I usually make my own sauce but if I can’t we found Trader Joe’s is the closest to homemade.

  • Leenie

I am going to take these to a party. How should I reheat them when I get to the house? Thanks! 🙂

    Emeril’s Homestyle Marinara is Delish!!

This looks perfect for an appetizer for a nice homemade dinner. I LOVE tortellini and can’t wait to try these! They look so yummy!

  • Lawnrence

Great! hugry now, I have to try this this week. Thank you for sharing!

Would these work using gluten free flour? My gluten allergy seems to be picky lol–plain bread bothers me but I can eat breading, for instance. Sometimes pasta bothers me but it’s so good I suffer through it!

  • Sarah

Try Rao! It’s pricy but delicious.

If you have a BJ’s membership, the Wellsley Farms marinara is WONDERFUL – 7.99 for 2 32 oz jars, but soooo fresh tasting and natural 🙂

  • Dina Roosth

These look amazing. I’m surprised they lasted a whole 30 minutes. Not sure if anyone mentioned this marinara sauce yet but Bertolli Organic olive oil, basil and garlic sauce is the best I’ve found hands down. So close to homemade. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. They make a cheaper non organic version but for some reason it’s not as good.

  • Chelsea

Honestly after struggling to find a decent marinara myself the best thing I’ve found is to snag a can of plain tomato sauce, roast some garlic in a skillet and simmer together with some herbs de provence. Best sauce and less preservatives (which helps my girlfriend with her acid reflux A LOT.)

What’s panko? Is it like dried bread crumbs? USA tradenames don’t mean anything to us Europeans, sorry! Would be easier if the ingredient is given, not the tradename, thanks!

    • Sara

You can use bread crumbs 🙂

    • Terri

Panko refers to a Japanese style bread crumb. The crumbs are bigger/thicker which produces a crisper exterior than plain bread crumbs. It’s not a USA trade name. Google Panko bread crumbs to see.

Can’t wait to try these!! Try Del Monte Marinara Sauce. It’s my favorite too!

  • Michael Bradley

    Can these be reheated?

I use Buitoni Marinara Sauce. You can find it in the refrigerated section where you got the Buitoni tortellini. Hope you like it.

  • Pauline Martin

I’m looking forward to making this for a group social coming up. You want the name of a great, not good, but GREAT Marinara sauce. Try Pioneer Woman Marinara. It’s new in the US found at most Walmart’s for around $2.50. Very thick and chunky and flavourful.
Ree Drummond has a cooking show on the Food Network called The Pioneer Woman. You’ll like the sauce!
